James Parker has been National Research Director of Taverner Research Group since 2019. Before that he was Managing Director of Jetty Research, which he founded in 2006 and which was purchased by Taverner in late 2018.
James has had a long interest in market research as instigator, facilitator and user. As a former stockbroker and journalist with Australian Business he founded and co-ordinated an annual survey of stockbroking researchers. As Managing Director of TNT Magazine he turned that company’s bi-annual quantitative survey of 1000 backpackers into the standard statistical reference for that industry.
James’s client-side background in media, finance and research allows him to look at research projects from a client’s perspective; ask the right questions, and forgo technical jargon in favour of language that is clear, simple and commercially useful.
James is a full member of The Research Society, and a Qualified Practising Researcher (QPR). Away from work James is a passionate golfer and bridge player. He’s pretty good at one of them, the other being golf.
